Ricky Carmichael Daytona Amateur Supercross Welcomes a Host of Returning Sponsors to Sixth Annual Event
Two-Day Amateur Supercross Event Draws the Industry’s Top Companies and Athletes

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (February 16, 2015) MX Sports and 15-Time National Champion Ricky Carmichael are pleased to welcome a host of returning sponsors back to the sixth annual Ricky Carmichael Daytona Amateur Supercross. This unique event, taking place Sunday, March 8 and Monday, March 9 at the historic Daytona International Speedway, will feature some of the biggest names in amateur racing, as well as the industry as a whole.

One of the most unique features of the RCSX event is the fact that it takes place just one day after the Daytona Supercross by Honda, making it easier than ever for industry personnel to stick around and scout the upcoming talent. Because of that, this event is backed by the best companies in the business, including AMSOIL, FOX Racing, Pro Circuit, Sunoco and Cometic—all companies that have been behind RCSX for multiple years.

AMSOIL continues to show its support for amateur racing by once again providing on-site support at this year’s RCSX. For the sixth straight year, Fox Racing and Pro Circuit will sponsor the two-day event through trackside support and numerous sponsored athletes. And Fox will once again provide the official staff clothing of RCSX.

“Supporting the Ricky Carmichael Daytona Amateur Supercross is a great opportunity for AMSOIL,” said AMSOIL Race Program Manager Jeremy Meyer. “We have a great partnership with MX Sports and we believe in supporting amateur racing at the core. We’re happy to be a part of the exciting advancements made through live streaming the event, as well.”

Sunoco, a brand synonymous with Daytona International Speedway, will return for the second consecutive year as the official race fuel of RCSX. Sunoco will have fuel available for purchase both days of the event. Moreover, Cometic Gasket returns to RCSX for the third straight year, supporting amateurs on-site all weekend long. Cometic has long been a part of Ricky Carmichael’s successful racing career and continues to show support to amateur racing through this event.

The RCSX class structure includes classes for youth riders on 50cc bikes all the way up to vet and senior classes. The race will follow a supercross format, using heat races and last chance qualifiers to seed the field of riders into a main event in each class, over the course of two days. Unlike the Loretta Lynn Ranch format, riders do not need to qualify at other races in order to participate in the Daytona event.

This event will kick off the opening round of the Women’s Motocross (WMX) Championship, featuring a WMX class for riders who are pre-approved for a 2015 WMX license, in addition to Women Amateur (12+) 99-250cc and Girls (9-13) 79-85cc 2-Stk. For more information on the WMX schedule, licensing and rules please visit www.racewmx.com.

The sixth annual Ricky Carmichael Daytona Amateur Supercross Championship will take place Sunday, March 8 and Monday, March 9, 2015. For more information on the event, please visit our brand new website at www.racedaytona.com.
